Hola! Hoy es viernes y despues de una larga, larguisima semana, cuando llega el viernes por la noche una buena cena con una cerveza y/o vino es imprescindible!! jeje! aunque sepa que el sabado tambien hay que trabajar, el viernes noche es sagrado :) Aun estamos explorando los sitios de la ciudad, por lo que de momento vamos cada vez a un sitio diferente. Hoy hemos ido a "Donatella Mediterranean Bistro". El sitio es bastante pequeno y acogedor y la comida es casera, aunque aun se puede mejorar bastante, pero bueno, podria recomendarlo :) Lo que mas me ha llamado la atencion del sitio es un cartel que decia: "No se sirve vino o licores". Entonces he mirado alrededor y he visto que la gente tenia vino en sus mesas servido en copas y entonces es cuando he pensado que segun la tradicion americana, la gente llevaba sus propias botellas de vino o "Bring Your Own". Nosotros no lo sabiamos, asi que mientras nos servian la comida, Thomas ha ido al supermercado y ha comprado una botella de vino italiano, muy rico por cierto. Ambos sabiamos de la existencia de esta costumbre, pero para mi al menos, esta era la primera vez que llevaba mi propia botella de vino a un restaurante. La experiencia ha sido algo rara, ya que me parecia extrano ir por la calle con la botella de vino en una bolsa de papel y vuelta a casa con algo menos de media :). De todas formas, esto ha hecho que la cena sea mucho mas barata, ya que aqui la comida no es nada cara, pero una cena se puede hacer mucho mas cara cuando incluyes alguna bebida alcoholica. Ha sido bueno experimentar algo diferente :) Seguimos en contacto!


Hello! Today is Friday and after a very, very long week I was looking forward to Friday night. At this point of the day what I feel like the most after work is going out for a nice dinner and drink beer and/or wine :) it is really necessary!! hehe! even though I know I have to work on Saturday morning, Friday nights are sacred :)
We are still exploring different places in the city, so every week we go somewhere else. Today we went for dinner to "Donatella Mediterranean Bistro". The restaurant is small and cosy and they have home-made food (they can still improve it...). There was something that caught my eye and it was a sign saying: "We don't serve wine or spirits". Then I looked around and I saw people drinking wine and I thought they must have brought their own wine. We didn't know this, so while we were waiting for our food, Thomas run to the supermarket to buy a bottle of wine to drink with dinner. By the way, the Italian wine he bought was great ;) We both knew about the BYO, but at least for me it was the first time I had to bring a bottle of wine to the restaurant.
It was a bit weird bringing the bottle in a paper bag to the restaurant and also in our way back home. Anyway, this made dinner cheaper since here food is not too expensive and dinner prices are quite reasonable unless you drink some alcohol...It was nice doing something different!!
